Introducing Glen Oak Fisheries, established as a family aquaculture business supplying loch-reared sustainable trout over forty years ago, on the site of the Glenoak Mills on the River Bann in Crumlin, Co. Antrim.

The River Bann is the only outlet to the sea from Lough Neagh, being the largest lough in Ireland and provides a continuous 1000 l/sec supply of water to the site.

Glen Oak is vertically integrated and retains its own brood stock, so that they control as many of the factors as possible relating to the health and welfare of the trout.

Northern Ireland is a Disease Free Zone in worldwide Veterinary Terms and Glen Oak is able to utilise this as an additional practical barrier against health risk to stock. This means that they do not use prophylactic treatments in the aquaculture operation, which means low risk in food testing results.

Production facilities are licensed by Government Departments for both water quality and fish health, in addition to which Glen Oak hold Certification to UK, EU and international standards. These Licences permit our combined sites to produce in excess of 1500 tonnes of trout.
